Why Do I Get a Blue Screen of Death?

A Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) usually occurs due to driver conflicts, hardware problems, or corrupted system files. It can also be caused by faulty RAM, overheating, or malware.

How to Fix It

  1. Restart Your Computer
Restart your PC to clear temporary errors.
  2. Note the Error Code
Check the BSOD error code to identify the cause.
  3. Update Drivers
Update all device drivers, especially graphics and chipset drivers.
  4. Run System File Checker
    Open Command Prompt and type:
    sfc /scannow
  5. Check for Windows Updates
Install the latest updates to fix system bugs.
  6. Scan for Malware
    Run a full antivirus scan.
  7. Check Hardware
Test RAM and hard drive for faults.
  8. Uninstall Recent Software or Drivers
Remove recently installed programs that may be causing conflicts.

Tip
Keep drivers updated and avoid installing unknown software to prevent BSOD errors.
